Our group decided to interview Mr Preston as he is an expert on social networking sites and has a terrific range of knowledge about social online behaviour and understand the Tumblr website in great depth. Preston's role in the documentary is to supply a sustained, critical response on the behaviour that appears on internet communities and how its changes peoples lives both online and offline.
As a group we decided to pick Jodie O'Neill (myself) as the documentarian. We made this decision as we wanted a young adult to mediate between the contrasting interviews and to represent our target audience. My role is to communicate to the audience what is going on and to ask questions in order to gain a reaction.
Kira Jones' (Anna Ingoldby) role in the documentary is to explain her interests on Tumbr and why she enjoys using the sight. Jones helps to bring an insight to the various cultures on Tumblr and how sometimes these cultures can get out of hand. Anna Ingoldsby was the perfect contestant for the role as she uses Tumblr herself and understands the various online hysterias that appear on Tumblr.
