Questionnaire Results - By Jodie O'Neill

As a group, we released a questionnaire in order to find out about different peoples views on documentaries. We asked one hundred people in order to gain a wide range of results.

Question 1
Most people who took part in the questionnaire were males. However, a lot of females also took part too, so our documentary must appeal to both genders.

Question 2
The largest age group who took part were 16-18 year olds. Our documentary must appeal to this age group and be relevant to their interests. The age group of 19-25 year olds also scored highly, so their interests must be considered.

Question 3
The majority of people who took part in the questionnaire said that they watch a documentary once a week. In order to make our documentary professional and interesting, we must compare our layout and stylistics in comparison to current, successful documentaries.

Question 4
Educational and reality documentaries appeared to be the most popular. My documentary will incorporate both sides of these genres.

Question 5
Most people voted expository as their favourite mode. This vote must be an aspect of my final documentary.

Question 6
As a group we discussed the idea of doing a documentary focusing on internet culture. This idea proved to be very popular.

Question 7
The true story of the internet and Big fat gypsy weddings proved to be the most popular documentaries. Perhaps a mixture of educational and reality aspects could be blended together to create a popular documentary.

Question 8
BBC Three was the most circled option. Our documentary must be hosted on this or a similar channel. BBC Three usually hosts a mixture of educational and reality documentaries, which could suit the nature of internet culture.

Question 9
Entertainment and education were what the participants would most likely to see within a documentary. These factors must be part of the final documentary.

Question 10
Television and computers are most widely used to watch documentaries. We must ensure that our documentary is available online, as well as on television. To advertise our documentary we might use a radio advert and a magazine column to gain audience attention, as this is the way most documentaries advertise their show.

Question 11
There was no decisive decision over the gender of the voiceover. Our documentary could contain either a male or female voiceover.

Question 12
As well as using TV advertisements, magazine columns and radio advertisements, our group must use social networking sites to promote our documentary.
