Our Documentary would be advertised in a TV guide magazine in order to gain publuc attention. There would be a double spread page to advertise the documentary which would contain the details of the documentary, such as the subject matter, the documentarian and the date and time of the show. Later on in the magazine, there would be a brief description of the documentary and the time and channel it is on.
The front page of the TV Guide contain photographs of the most popular TV shows/films/documentaries.
Our documentary would be advertised later on in the magazine in this brief format which contains all the programmes that are televised on that particular day and channel.
The TV guide also separates different programmes such as Kids, Sport and Radio. Our documentary could possibly be positioned under the title, "Documentary." Most important/popular TV shows often have pictures on the same page as it diverts the readers attention and gives a brief description, which is placed on the left hand side.TV channels are clearly visible at the top of the page and the day and date is often positioned in the left or right hand corner. Morning shows usually have less detail then the evening slot which contain more page space. Small symbols are highlighted in green above - this helps to quickly explain the style of the programme, whether it is a film, documentary, a new show or a programme that is a premiere on that particular channel. Our documentary would have a "New Documentary" symbol next to the title, "Internet Cultue - Online Hysteria."
A double page spread will be used to advertise the documentary. Large titles will help to gain audience attention while the pictures clearly demonstrate the subject matter and nature of the documentary. Short descriptions are used under the title to lay out the story of the show. Extra information is often available on the TV guide website which is positioned at the bottom right of the page.
Pictures are often used to highlight the key character(s), participants or event of the soap/documentary or film. The least important details are placed at the end of the article, often asking a question to build up suspense for the actual show. Sub titles are in use to ensure that the content is clear and relevant, while reminding the reader what the key events are.
